Yes, yes I am.
My fangirling and stalking knows no bounds when it comes to Vi Keeland.
I am completely obsessed with her ability to write characters so engaging, flesh and blood realism, yet simple that the complexities that typically weigh down a character never exist. You get them every single time and her characters wants, needs, and desires are front and center.
I loved Worth the Fight. It was my introduction to the world of a good MMA story line. Previously I found them amazingly overused and so cookie cutter, I lost interest in them to the point I wouldn't even bother anymore.
Until Vi Keeland crossed my path.
So when Worth the Chance was released, yep, I jumped at it. Not something I normally do. Typical buyers remorse ensued. Then the self doubt that lightening wouldn't strike twice. This is MMA after all. How much could she possibly do with the story line to give us a fresh story.
Well, Vi knows her men. And Vi knows what we, the readers want in their MMA men.
Powerful. Passionate. Seizes and never let's go. Arrogance worthy of an Alpha male. Dominance. A solid story line.
Vinny, we met him as a kid in Worth the Fight. Nico took him under his wing to keep him out of trouble. No father, a drug addict mother. Not much going for him. Intelligent though, but with an anger management issue as well as the proverbial brick wall keeping people at a distance.
In Worth the Chance, we get much more back story. A definite characterization that gives such a great insight to him.
Then we have Liv.
Liv and Vinny knew each other in high school. She was his tutor and in love with him. It turns out Vinny felt the same but was afraid he would hurt her, leading her down a dark path. He loved her so much, he left.
Normally, I hate that in a story line. I find it nothing but self serving crap, but not this time.
The authors characterizations are so strong, you understand and accept his actions. Your sad, but not angry.
They reconnect years later and this time, Vinny is all in as is Liv.
Their romance is steamy and oh so sizzling! Their acceptance of each other, faults and all just drives the story.
All consuming love. It's the best.
There are bumps in the road, Vinny's past coming back to haunt them. Liv keeping secrets. The mystery of where Vinny came from, and a climatic ending that just had me grinning like a goon.
Yep, Vi Keeland knows her men!
Book 3 and finale, Worth Forgiving is out in June and I for one, can not wait! This will be the story of Jax, who we had an introduction too. And if you go on the authors website and subscribe, you will be sent the first chapter.
Go do it, sooooo worth it!!
