Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.

Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn't fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.

In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.

When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

Raine Thomas’ take on Everly Wallace from For Everly

The physical inspiration for Everly Wallace came from this photo of Barbara Meier. Everly is twenty-two years old when the story begins. She’s 5’9” and has deep red hair and blue-green eyes. Like many redheads, she has a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose…something that appeals to her hot new physical therapy client, Major League pitcher, Cole Parker.

Everly’s childhood began like many others, but took a tragic turn when she was fourteen. Since then, she has struggled to find some semblance of stability and normalcy. What she’ll realize when she meets Cole is that “normal” and “stable” have many different interpretations. She thinks she’ll never achieve the same level of stability as he has in his family life.

Because of her background, Everly is guarded and cautious about whom she trusts. She grew up at a young age, never really experiencing what most teens do. She’s independent and strong, but secretly wishes someone would take care of her for a change. Her intelligence and diligence have propelled her onto the fast track to a successful career, but her singular focus has held her back from really experiencing life.

Last but not least, here are a few fun facts that readers won’t learn about Everly in the book:

1. She has a beautiful singing voice.
2. Before she was old enough to get into sports, she had a huge Hello Kitty collection.
3. She’s a switch-hitter (batting just as well left-handed as right-handed).
4. She’s always had a fascination with Scotland, where some of her ancestors lived.
5. She has a weakness for Skittles candy.

  2. Wow, this looks good! I like to see a hero that can learn. Sounds like he is about to be schooled. I also like to see those HEAs and this sound like it will fit the bill.
