I’m a blogger. He’s a writer.
He was my weakness.
I was his muse.

Once upon a time my marriage was built on love...
Until it wasn't

Where had we gone wrong?
I had given up hope…

But then he messaged me,
And his words intoxicated me.
Made me believe in love again.

Made me believe in truth.
My imperfect truth…

My 5 Star Imperfect Perfect Review

This story completely shredded me.
We all know an Ava or was an Ava.

One of the best things about blog tours is the privilege of reading ARC's from new authors and their debut stories. And sometimes you get a story so profound, so real, so fraught with emotion, it stays with you for days after.

Imperfect Truth is that story.

The author told a story from the deepest depths of the heart and left me wondering whose story was she telling because we all know an Ava, and for some, was an Ava.

I was so emotionally connected with Ava from the first page. A woman whose marriage has turned in to an empty abyss. Her only escape was her book blogging and the internet. Her husband, Alexandre completely ignores her, her mother in law walks all over her. The emotional abuse was so real that Ava suffers was palpable, you could feel her suffocating from it.

Now any story that starts that strongly, you assume is going to be exhausting. This was not the case.

So well written and balanced that I knew the reason for the abyss was lack of communication.

Something anyone who is married or in a long term relationship understands. It happens to the best of us, it's just a matter of how far do you let it go or do you fight your way back?

In Ava's case, it had gone on so far that she was standing at the precept of her life beaten down emotionally, not knowing what to do.

Then she "meets" Ryder on the internet.

Ryder is a well known indie author know for his dark erotic stories.

Their interaction at first is very normal in the book blogging world. Requests for promos and posts.

But the more they interact, the more open Ava becomes, and the more attentive Ryder becomes. They develop a relationship that at first Ava is thrilled with because it gives her an escape, something to look forward too.

Then things take a turn emotionally, that Ava starts walking a path that could change her entire life.

Without giving away any spoilers, you know things are going to wind up one of two ways, neither can be good.

The story was so real. You can see how the relationship became what it did. How Ava started to change. The emotions completely cracks open your heart and leaves you panting because you just can not catch your breath.

The flow and writing, spectacular. The author just peeled away layer after layer of Ava, Ryder, and Alexandre that I couldn't stop reading.

I reached a point in the story that I literally had tears in my eyes for the three of them.

Every character flawed but likable.

Every character imperfectly perfect.

The mystery of Ryder. The emotional well being of Ava. The distance of Alexandre.

You learn so much from the three of them.

One of the best debut novels I've read this year.

It was an emotional ride. I cried along with Ava. I felt her anger, her desperation, her need for love and attention from her husband.

The ending will leave you open and raw, but vindicated and alive.

I learned so much from Ava's journey. I looked at myself in ways I never thought I would.

Extremely powerful story and amazing debut from the author.

Many thanks to the Flirty Subs PR for sending this insanely stunning story my way.
